St. Mary's Parish
Bulletin Board
* PARISH FUNDRAISER: At this year's Popeye Picnic St. Mary's will be sponsoring a "THEMED
BASKET" stand.  Chances will be sold to win the baskets.  We are asking your creativity in making
"themed baskets" (for example, a car wash basket which could include a bucket, chamois, sponges, tire
spray, car wax ...).  Each basket should be worth $15-$25.  If you prefer, a monetary donation of this
amopunt can be made or individual items can be donated where the committee will assemble them for
you.  Please return the baskets to church (where Advent Giving Tree is normally located) by August 29th.
Any questions, contact Dee Shemonic at 826-4410 or Diane Kerkhover at 826-2229.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MATT BOHNERT and his family on the occasion of his reaching the level
of Eagle Scout!

* IT'S NOT TOO EARLY to let us know of someone you feel might be interested in learning more about
the Catholic faith through our RCIA program.  Classes will begin in October.  Call Cheryl Gross at
826-2526 or Fr. Gene at 826-2444.

* DONUTS AND COFFEE/JUICE AFTER 9:00AM MASS: The Knights of Columbus cordially invite all
parishioners, guests and Mass attendees for Donuts and Coffee/Juice immediately after Mass on the
3rd Sunday of each month in the KC Hall.  Please join us for a few minutes after Mass for fellowship,
conversation and something sweet.  This is a great opportunity to see friends and parishioners before
your busy schedules take you in different directions.

*
A LITTLE HOUSEKEEPING REMINDER: Please make sure that the bulletins, papers, and other
trash is not left in the pews after Mass.  Your cooperation is always appreciated.  There are also some
items in our lost and found which is in the vestibule on the St. Joseph side of church.  If you think you left
something in church, check it out as it may be there.

VALUES FROM ST. VINCENT'S is a catalog program sponsored by the Belleville Council of the
Society of St. Vincent de Paul.  It's a way you can purchase new, quality merchandise of all types
(delivered right to your door) and, at the same time, help St. Vincent de Paul serve the poor.  All
proceeds benefit St. Vincent de Paul ministries.  Fore more information or to see merchandise available,
visit the SVDP website,
www.svdpsouthil.org, and click the "Catalog Program" tab or call 618-394-3568.

* HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT BEING A LECTOR OR MINISTER OF THE EUCHARIST?  We
could use more people to help with these ministries.  Give Fr. Gene a call at 826-2444 if you are
interested.  Surprise us!

* FOOD BARREL: Thank you to those who continue to bring items to place in our food barrel at the main
entrance of church for the Chester Area Christian Food Pantry.  They are appreciative of your generosity.

* OUR MILITARY PAGE: Submissions for our Military Tribute Page on our website have been slow in
coming in.  If you know of someone from our parish currently in active service, has died in the line of duty,
or is a veteran, please submit their name and a little background information so we can recognize them
for their brave service.  Drop me an e-mail at
webmaster@maryhoc.org, drop a note in the collection or
drop a note by the parish office.  A photo would also be welcomed.

* OUR PARISH WEBSITE is always being updated.  Check back often to see new items on the
calendar, school news, and other new features.
Do you have any photos from parish events, etc?  Do you have any upcoming
events that you would like to have advertised on our bulletin board?  I would love to
publish them on our website.  E-mail me at
webmaster@maryhoc.org.  I would also
love to hear what you think about our website, and any suggestions you have.
